In 1903, the confectioner Anton Rumpelmayer and his son René founded the Angelina tea room in Paris at 226 Rue de Rivoli, named after his daughter-in-law. Thanks to the charm of the place and Rumpelmayer's skill and experience in confectionery, Angelina quickly became the place to go among the elite.
